Demo Reel Danger - 974 days ago
We recently received a compilation of demo reels from various production companies. Popped it in the DVD player, and watched some impressive looking reels filled with great shots and fancy FX work. And then, sticking out like a sore thumb, was a demo reel that was definitely subpar, especially considering the high quality work that had preceded it. If I had watched the reel by itself, I might not have thought it all that bad. But in the context of those other reels, this particular one just fell flat. Goes to show you that you can never be too careful about your reel, especially when you’re going to be displaying it as the calling card for your company…
And since I’m talking about demo reels, I thought I’d include one of a friend that works at BGEA. He’s produced some nice looking stuff…btw, if you have a reel you’re interested in me featuring, send it my way. I may or may not talk about, but I’d love to have the option…
