Via Studio Daily’s blog, I was alerted to this Creative Cow forums discussion on finding a good, cheap way to monitor HD signals. If you’re in the market, you’ll probably find this a good read.

If you don’t have time to read the whole thing, here’s a two monitor suggestions:
– The Panasonic TH-42PH10UK, for $909.

– The Dell 2407WFP for $669

Plus, check out this blog post from Shane at Little Frog in HiDef about using Matrox’s MXO card with an Apple Cinema display and some color calibration software. Looks like a good option…
